Comment Opportunity, April 14, 2017: Transport Canada is currently leading a working group of northern organizations and industry stakeholders in developing “Guidelines for Passenger Vessels Operating in the Canadian Arctic”. These guidelines are intended to assist vessel operators and designated vessel representatives in achieving successful voyages and promoting good relations with all residents in the Canadian Arctic. All interested organizations and individuals are invited to review the current draft of the guidelines and provide their perspectives for consideration by April 14, 2017. Call for Proposals, Feb 17, 2017: The World Wildlife Fund-Canada is accepting proposals for the second edition of the Arctic Species Conservation Fund to identify partners to collaborate with to further the organization’s knowledge of Arctic species and to achieve meaningful conservation outcomes. Members of the Public are invited to submit their proposals for consideration on or before February 17, 2017. Proposals as well as requests for additional information on funding opportunities and requirements as well as 2017 species conservation priorities should be submitted to email@example.com

Canada Transportation Act Review: On February 25, 2016, the Minister of Transport tabled in Parliament the Canada Transportation Act (CTA) Review Report. The Review was launched in June, 2014, and concluded in December, 2015 and looked forward 20 to 30 years to identify priorities and potential actions in transportation that will support Canada’s long-term economic well-being. The Report embodies many months of analytical work, significant public consultations and includes a number of recommendations. The Government is currently reviewing the Report and is looking forward to hearing from Canadians on the findings of the Review; comments and questions can be forwarded to Transport Canada via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
